Family-owned and operated for five generations, Domaine Vessigaud is a small estate nestled in the village of Pouilly, at the heart of the Pouilly-Fuissé appellation in southern Burgundy’s Mâconnais region. Pierre Vessigaud took over the estate in 1988, continuing the tradition while adopting organic practices. The estate covers 10 hectares of vineyards, including 5 hectares of Pouilly-Fuissé, 3 hectares of Mâcon-Fuissé, and 1 hectare each in Mâcon-Charnay and the Beaujolais appellation of Saint-Amour. Pierre emphasizes that “great wines come from great soils,” and his focus on ecological techniques has allowed him to produce wines that express the unique qualities of the region.
