THE CONTUCCI FAMILY IS ONE OF THE OLDEST IN ITALY DATING BACK TO THE XI CENTURY. It was founded in 1008. Current winemaker, Andrea Contucci, lives in the home his great-great-grandfather’s great-great-grandfather thought was old. Amazingly, he also makes wine in the same cellar beneath it. The Contucci family runs the last winery actually still located in the city of Montalcino, right in the town square.
