Cantina Stroppiana

Piedmont, Barolo

Our Story

The Stroppiana estate began in Rivalta, a small village in the township of La Morra, at the heart of the Barolo region. Its roots, however, lie in two of Barolo’s most prestigious townships: La Morra and Monforte d’Alba. In the 1950s and ’60s, their great-grandparents and grandparents began acquiring vineyards in La Morra and Bussia. Like many at the time, most of the harvest was sold to other producers, with just a small portion made into wine for the family. Dario, was born and raised in La Morra and worked the vineyards with his father and grandfather.  Stefania, came from Bussia, a hamlet in Monforte d’Alba. But both hailed from families steeped in farming and winemaking.  Now with their children, Leonard and Altea, they are the fourth generation of Stroppiana winemakers, with the family estate founded in the mid-20th century.
