GinRosa

Milan, Italy

Our Story

GINROSA is a classic Milanese aperitif bitters with a history going back more than 150 years. In 1885, philanthropist and entrepreneur Annunziata Bournè took over the operations of a local wine shop in Piazza San Babila, at a time when unaccompanied women were not allowed in bars. She made her place female-friendly and created a new aperitif that was more delicately balanced bitters than the fiery Campari. It is the only totally 100% natural Italian Aperitif with no artificial coloring. The closely guarded, all-natural GinRosa formula is driven by conscientiously sourced pink juniper, cinchona and other botanicals. The bar officially took the GinRosa name in 1931, but has never moved from its original location on Piazza San Babila.
