Campi Valerio

Monteroduni, Molise, Italy

Our Story

The Valerio family has been working the vineyard since 1974, but established Campi Valerio as a bonded winery in 2004. Although a relatively young winery, the vineyards themselves were established in the 17th century by Prince Giovanni Pignatelli, a Neopolitan nobleman, who resided in Monterodinu, Molise. Since its founding, Campi Valerio has expanded its property from a small single vineyard to the five it holds today, allowing them to produce increasingly diverse and complex wines. Despite its rapid growth, Campi Valerio has been able to remain true to their philosophy of producing wines that represent their terroir and promote the region’s indigenous grapes of Tintilia, Falanghina and Montepulciano. In all their farming activities, they pay the utmost attention to nature and its sustainability. They have also been able to combine this respect for the old ways with the new techniques to create some truly exciting and unique wines. Molise is little known region full of surprises and history, and the vineyards were granted the DOC status several decades ago. The name Campi Valerio, “the field”, symbolizes more than a piece of land, it represents the family and the territory’s origins in growing grapes and olive groves.
