Situated in the heart of Chablis, at the foot of the hill of the Grands Crus, Domaine du Chardonnay was established in 1987 as a joint venture between three partners: Etienne Boileau, William Nahan and Christian Simon. Initially they farmed 11 hectare of vines, but now the vineyard has expanded and the winery, located near a water mill on the banks of the Serein River, has been updated with the latest equipment and technology.By 2019, all three of the original founders had retired and William’s son, Arnaud Nahan, took over the management of the business, while Thomas Labille joined him as winemaker and equity partner. Thomas had previously worked with Domaine Laroche and in his hands, the Domaine du Chardonnay wines are going from strong to stronger. The wines have always been a great value, classic Chablis, and the latest releases are simply better than ever. The estate now operates 35 hectares in Petit Chablis, Chablis and Chablis 1er Cru appellations and is committed to the environment by being HVE level 3 certified (and vegan!). They vinify their wines guided by respect for the terroirs, the age of the vines and the quality of the grapes.
